Powder Coat VS Paint
Powder Coat vs Paint?
Powder Coated | Painted | |
---|---|---|
SCRATCH RESISTANCE | Hardwearing multi-layered finish provides excellent resistance to everyday damage | With fewer layers, finish is more susceptible to chips, scratches and general wear and tear |
UV RESISTANCE | With solid UV resistance, finish will retain colour and shine | With less UV resistance, finish susceptible to fading and dulling |
EASE OF MAINTENANCE | Enhanced corrosion-resistance means less regular cleaning needed | Regular cleaning needed to remove corrosion-causing dirt and build-up |
DURABILITY | 3 – 5 plus years | 1 – 2 years |
AFFORDABILITY | More expensive, but delivers on longevity | Initially cheaper, but will need more maintenance |
Wheel Balancing
Perfectly balanced wheels are vital to a smooth, safe ride. In this process stage, we attach your wheel to our tyre-balancing Hunter machine. While rotating the wheel, we take vibration measurements, guiding our technicians to add the right amount of weight to the rim in the right places.
Wheel Polishing
All alloy wheels, whether cloudy, scratched or oxidized, can be transformed by polishing. Say goodbye to discolouration, curb rash, scrapes and gouges caused by ageing. Say hello to the next level, clean and pristine.
Wheel Straightening
While they’re not always obvious, buckled wheels can cause bumpy ride and tyre problems. We check every revolution in the workshop to ensure it’s straight. If straightening is needed, we treat the damaged area using our specialist
Tire Changing
Old tyre sealant can become dried onto rims. As well as needing to look better, this can cause future problems with your tyres. We use advanced Hunter equipment in this step to ensure the rim is left completely clean once the tyre is removed.
Powder Coating
In powder coating, we apply a powder made of pigment and resin particles electrostatically to the rim – the electrostatic charge makes the powder adhere seamlessly to the wheel’s surface. We then spray metallic paint onto the powder coating, followed by a powder coat lacquer. The result: a sleek, glowing, incredibly hard-wearing finish that is light years ahead of traditional painting.
Diamond Cutting Service
Diamond cutting gives your wheels a luxe feel. We apply this finish onto a wheel using a specialist HBC System machine. A well-finished diamond-cut alloy wheel has excellent grooves in the exposed metal and a high gloss.
